You'll have the chance to share your thoughts and ideas about the most pressing issues we should consider for our advocacy work in 2020. Prepare for the call by taking a look at our process for prioritizing policy work here and by considering the following categories and examples:

  1. Health: Barriers or gaps in Medicaid and Medicare coverage, harm reduction initiativeS
  2. Housing: Local or state programs that provide housing assistance (rent, utilities, voucher programs, etc.)
  3. Income: Public benefits programs and challenges within those programs (TCA, TDAP, SNAP/food assistance, etc.)
  4. Across categories: Youth experiencing homelessness, criminal justice barriers to employment or housing, impact of federal rules (such as anti-immigration policy)

Questions to consider ahead of the call:

  • Do your clients face barriers related to any of the issues above?
  • Is your work and/or practice affected by any of these issues?
  • What other issues are not on this list that you see as barriers to health care, housing or income?
