Where do we go from here?


The National Health Care for the Homeless Council has crafted a post-election Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document to help us—as individuals and as an organization—navigate a new political landscape. This document provides insight into how the new administration’s policies might affect impact the Affordable Care Act, health center funding and supportive housing services, among other things. Please take some time to read through this information for answers to some important questions, and for guidance about how we as an organization can continue to provide the best care possible to our clients during these uncertain times.

Say hello to the agency’s inaugural Director of Client Access, Muhammed Mamman, MBA, MHA! Prior to joining us in May, Muhammed spent 14 years improving health care delivery across Maryland. His warm personality and passion for improving client health are a welcome addition as a leader of this new department. 


Also celebrated as Freedom Day, Independence Day, Jubilee Day, Liberation Day and Emancipation Day, June 19 marks the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were informed of the Emancipation Proclamation, which had been issued two years earlier by President Lincoln.
