2025 Core Value Awards
At our annual staff holiday party, we take time to recognize and celebrate staff members who best represent our Core Values, as well as one recipient of the Von Bradshaw Award, named after Delvonia "Von" Bradshaw, who passed away in 2024 and truly held the principles of Health Care for the Homeless to heart. Please congratulate your colleagues when you see them!
Von Bradshaw Award
Orlando Stevenson, CCHW, Community Health Worker
"I'm so grateful for this. So many wonderful people at HCH truly deserve this award over me. I appreciate the love, and support from my colleagues, and the Health Care for the Homeless community. I am grateful for Ms. Von—the conversations we shared back then, wasn't work related, it was life related."
Dignity
Lauren Flynn, LCSW-C, Therapist Case Manager
"I submit that when we treat people without dignity, it is our own humanity that suffers."
Authenticity
Linika Coley, Security Guard
"They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world: someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for." -Tom Bodett
Hope
Tracie Roxburgh, Client Service Representative
"The core value of hope for me is believing, having faith that with a strong mind and determination we can get through all life obstacles that we face in our daily life."
Justice
Monica Martin, RDH, Dental Hygienist
"I am grateful to come to a place where I work alongside wonderful people who uphold justice, and many other core values, to create extraordinary outcomes for our community."
Passion
Ricardo Burks, Case Manager
"For me, passion isn't always loud or dramatic. I believe it lives in the everyday moments like the 'what if we tried this' conversations. It's about challenging ourselves, pushing past what’s comfortable, and daring to see a better possibility. I can never forget that 'I am you.'"
Balance
Amy Nahley, RN, Population Health Nurse
"Balance can be tricky, to achieve and maintain. Rumi, the 12th Mystic wrote that 'Life is a balance of holding on and letting go,' this resonates with me as we are called to embrace what is beautiful and what is difficult and accept the things we can change and the things we cannot. I think that balance rooted in hope is both a journey and a destination throughout life."
