Are you Homeless?

Are you experiencing homelessness? If so, you are not alone. This year, more than 30,000 different people in Baltimore City – and as many as 3,500,000 individuals nationally – will find themselves without a regular place to stay.

Health Care for the Homeless can provide the care you need. Our services include medical care, mental health services, social work and case management, addiction treatment, dental care, HIV services, outreach, prison reentry services, supportive housing, and access to education and employment.

HCH serves people who lack stable housing. This includes people living in shelters, transitional housing, on the streets, or “doubled up” with friends, neighbors, or relatives.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What if I don’t have insurance?
A. You do not need to have insurance to visit HCH. If your income is below 150% of the federal poverty level ($16,245 annually for an individual) you will not pay a penny for your care. HCH will never turn you away based upon inability to pay for services.

Q. What if I have Medicaid or Medicare and am enrolled with another health care provider?
A. HCH has several contracts in Maryland with Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and is also a Medicare provider. If you are experiencing homelessness and have difficulty accessing your provider, we may be able to reassign you to HCH.

Q. Where are you located?
A. In January 2010, HCH moved to a new building at 421 Fallsway, near the intersection of Hillen and Fallsway.

Q. What are your hours of operation?
A. HCH is open Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are closed for services on Thursday afternoons. Limited walk-in services are available. For more information, call 410-837-5533.
