#GivingTOOTHday raises $36,000 for dental care

12.02.16

We did it! Together, with more than 70 donors and generous matching funds from Figure 53 and Republic National Distributing Company, we exceeded our $30,000 goal for life-changing dental care!

Dental care changed Janice’s life.  “I have the smile that I used to have as a young lady,” says Janice, a proud recipient of dentures from Health Care for the Homeless. “I’m 63, and I don’t look it now with my teeth. I can sing to the world! I’m gorgeous.”

Before receiving dental care at Health Care for the Homeless, Janice was so self-conscious that she hid her face behind a medical mask—even from her own son. But not anymore. Thanks to your gifts, we can help more people like Janice find their confidence and joy again.

What’s next?

#MyGivingStory! #MyGivingStory is a nationwide campaign and social media storytelling contest that aims to spark a public discussion about the reasons people give. In partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Facebook, the folks at #GivingTuesday are asking “everyday givers” to share their personal stories on social media about why they give to a certain nonprofit organization. The winners’ featured nonprofit organizations will receive $2,500-10,000 grants. Please help raise even more money for Health Care for the Homeless. Enter your story here.

Take us over the top. In case you missed your chance to donate on #GivingTOOTHday itself, there’s still time to donate toward dental care.  Donate here.

Thank you for making #GivingTOOTHday such a smile-worthy success.
