PI: Hepatitis C Treatment
Goal: Increase in number of clients who are treated for Hepatitis C
Why are we working to treat Hepatitis C? Hepatitis C has been notoriously expensive and difficult to treat; the medication is very expensive, and in the past, only highly-specialized doctors were allowed to offer treatment. Now that treatment is more accessible, we want to cure as many of our clients as possible.
What are we doing to increase the numbers? We started off by identifying clients who tested positive but weren’t receiving treatment. We’re pulling these lists once a quarter and asking our clinical staff to reach out and get these clients into the clinic to begin treatment as soon as possible.
What's next? What we know is that lots of people are falling through the cracks. Our performance improvement team is working to create more comprehensive reports that will allow us to close the gaps.
