Staff on the move!

Here are a few of the movers and shakers among us who recently ventured into new roles. See what they are looking forward to most about their new positions.

Tammy Montague, PhD, LCSW-C—Director of Recovery Services (July 13, 2026)

Previously Clinical Program Manager II

"I’m excited about helping this agency move forward in a space that traditionally has been known as 'treatment.' While treatment for substance use primarily deals with treating the symptoms, recovery is a lifestyle. There is no one size fit all cure for addiction. We have to treat the symptoms while also assisting individuals with resources to help them learn and deal with their condition. I’m excited about that!"

Danielle Brodie—Case Manager (June 15, 2026)

Previously Peer Advocate

"I’m really looking forward to building meaningful relationships with clients and being someone they can rely on for support and guidance. I’m excited about helping individuals navigate challenges, connect to resources and make progress toward their personal goals. Being part of a team that supports growth and change is something I’m genuinely excited about."

Jess Caldwell—Lead Housing Services Program Assistant (June 15, 2026)

"I am excited about this new role. It is a great opportunity for me to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact. I love that each day I get to contribute to the HCH mission because housing is health care."

Toni Gittens-Veney—Lead Medical Assistant (June 1, 2026)

Previously Medical Assistant

"I am truly honored to be a part of this team. It is a privilege to work alongside such dedicated individuals, and I am excited for the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. I look forward to helping shape the younger generation into the leaders of tomorrow by encouraging their growth, confidence and potential. I am also excited for the opportunity to expand my own skills and learn from this incredible team."

Nichole Bright—Sterilization Technician (May 5, 2026)

Previously Dental Services Specialist

"I am most excited about more patient interaction in a clinical setting in my new role, and working more closely with the amazing dental team. I am interested in applying to dental school soon to become a dentist, so this role will provide me with more opportunities to gain more hands-on dental experience before I apply!"

Orlando Stevenson—Case Manager - Housing Services (April 6, 2026)

Previously Community Health Worker

"It's been 11 years, and still not a day goes by I don't count my blessings working for Health Care for the Homeless. I respect deeply the relationships that I've developed with my client and coworkers. As I continue my journey, the future is still uncertain, but being a case manager keeps me searching for peace and harmony in today's world."

Kelly Gilliam—Client Service Manager (March 9, 2026)

Previously Lead Referrals Specialist

"I’m excited about the opportunity to take on new challenges, growing professionally and making a positive impact on both the clients we serve and the organization as a whole."

Sierra Ruth—Housing Services Program Assistant (January 12, 2026)

Previously Benefits Eligibility Specialist

Image

"This new role came to me as a surprise honestly, but I hit the ground running and took on this position by the reins. Although I'm not 100% client facing, I'm still making a difference, and that's what keeps me moving forward."

Alkema Jackson—Director of Practice Operations - Community Sites (January 10, 2026)

Previously Practice Manager of West Baltimore

Image

"The biggest change in my responsibilities is the shift between doing and designing. As a Practice Manager, much of my time was spent executing work directly with the team, and that remains important. However, as a Director, I am increasingly responsible for shaping how the work happens. It is a continual balance of staying close enough to the ground to understand operations, while remaining high enough to see patterns, guide strategy and design systems that support sustainable performance."
