This January, we established weekly shelter-based medical clinics. In this edition of “Day in the Life,” Senior Director of Medicine for Community Sites Tyler Gray, MD, and Client Service Specialist Luciana Wise-Oliver share a look into one Friday session at the city’s largest emergency shelter.

Since 2019, Health Care for the Homeless has been part of the Renters United Maryland (RUM) coalition—a key
advocacy group advancing housing justice in Maryland. We talked to RUM leader Zafar Shah about the coalition

On Monday, July 15, the Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services hosted a press conference to highlight the success of the Assistance in Community Integration Services (ACIS) program - and to celebrate the program's inclusion in the FY25 state budget. President & CEO Kevin Lindamood was in attendance along with other city and state leaders, including hospital partners who were crucial to funding the local match required during the pilot period.

With four and a half years at Health Care for the Homeless, Lisa Hoffmann first started as our Compliance Coordinator in January of 2020. Weeks later, she became invaluable in helping the organization rise to meet the incredible safety and compliance demands that came during a global pandemic. Building on her nursing and public health degrees as well as experiences in the Peace Corps, the World Health Organization and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, Lisa brings a strong sense of teamwork to all areas of her job.
