Homeless Persons' Memorial Day 2023
On Homeless Persons' Memorial Day, we came together to honor the lives of 127 community members who passed away without homes in 2023.
We gather to honor these individuals and because we expect more of our communities, our policy makers, organizations we work for and of ourselves.
To close out the program, President & CEO Kevin Lindamood said, "In the United States, our policies, systems, and priorities are set up to produce homelessness by design. If we accept that as true, eventually we have to ask ourselves, 'What is it that I'm doing? What are the things that I benefit from that produce homelessness? We expect not to have to keep coming back here again and again to remember people who died because of our society's failure and our collective failure to end homelessness."
