Fast Fact: Since January, nine staff members have ventured into new roles at the agency. See who they are and what they are looking forward to most! 


Marc Bowman, MSW—Volunteer Manager (April 11, 2022)

Previously Disability Assistance Outreach Specialist

"First, what I like most is having the opportunity to work closely with other depts throughout the agency and cultivating working relationships for serving and empowering the Health Care for the Homeless client population. Secondly, I so appreciate the creativity of recruiting and onboarding volunteers from church organizations, Black-owned businesses and various community organizations throughout the city of Baltimore.Thirdly, I am thankful to have the opportunity to recruit clinical learners from HBCU’s and other mainline colleges and universities so they can learn about the importance of helping to heal those most vulnerable in our society and for them to become ambassadors for helping to heal the community as a whole."

"I like to see how teams and departments collaborate for the benefits of the client. I've seen the client experience from several levels; my favorite moments are the times when cohesive client care shines through. I appreciate the amount of work that goes into EACH experience, and am grateful to have a team who are passionate about our clients. I look forward to implementing NEW and INNOVATIVE ideas and strategies that will improve customer service, client access, and staff retention. This means trainings, team-building exercises, and increased opportunities to truly involve clients in the workflow process; what do they want to see that couples with what we need to see? The Trans Rights Advocacy Coalition (TRAC) has been the driving force in championing trans rights policy changes in Maryland. Due to stigma and structural discrimination, transgender people—particularly transgender people of color—experience high rates of homelessness. Following the implementation of the Trans Health Equity Act in January, we talked with TRAC leadership about their work and community.
