Health Care for the Homeless client and community leader Paul Behler was killed last Sunday morning during a robbery near Lexington Market. “Paul was a kind person who was all about advocating for much needed change for those experiencing homelessness,” reflected Client Relations Coordinator Malcolm Williams. “(He was) a fan of puns and word play, and was infinitely imbued with an energy to pursue justice. From improving shelter conditions, to addressing health equity at HCH,” said Case Manager Eva Hendrix.
Paul’s death is hardly isolated. And let’s be clear—he died of homelessness. His life mattered and had meaning. His dear friend Tony Simmons worked to ensure that The Baltimore Sun covered his life and death.
